Taking risks opens us up to a world of possibilities--professionally and personally. But if you're the type that thinks taking a risk means switching hamburger night to a different day of the week, you need to sign up for this event! Join us on Tuesday, August 14, 2018, at the Universal Manufacturing Center at McDowell Technical Community College to learn how to mitigate the fear of risk-taking to expand your horizons.
Speaker and executive coach to business owners, C-Suite executives and high performing teams and athletes, Lynn Carnes will share the basics of assessing and taking risks. The event will be from 5:30-7 p.m. She will also provide a definition for risk that frees you to try new things and an exercise for deciding when and how to stretch your limits.
Light hors d'oeuvre will be served and all attendees will receive a handout to take home. Lynn is an engaging presenter that has worked with top-tier corporate executives, professional athletes, nonprofit organizations and more. She often shares humorous antidotes of her own transformation from what she refers to as a "raging B*#&*" to an engaging executive coach. Check out her TEDx Talk that tells her story.
Lynn is an accomplished and highly acclaimed speaker and community leader. Early in her career, she managed risk in a major bank and taught others to manage risk nationwide. She is past president of the Carolina Mountain Land Conservancy, Lake Lure Community Education Foundation and also volunteers for the Lake Lure Classical Academy and the Hickory Nut Gorge Olympiad. She is an avid water skier, potter, watercolor artist, and hiker. Lynn writes about inspiring new ways to look at learning, growth, and reinvention in leadership, athletics, art or life. You can follow her on her website at lynncarnes.com or on her business page Creative Spirits Unleashed.
