Kevin and Gena Middleton, owners of the Mountain Stream RV Park, are excited to welcome guests this fall into their new Yurts! The couple recently completed the installation of three brand new yurts set on custom-built landings all designed with gorgeous natural wood accents in the kitchens and baths, locally crafted furniture, and all the amenities of a cozy cabin.
Mountain Stream RV Park Offers Yurts 2018 (Kevin and Gena Middleton)
Immensely popular in recent years, the yurt model is actually thousands of years old. While today's yurts offer modern materials and accouterments, they remain a very eco-friendly option for conscientious travelers and even those that want a more adventurous----back to nature--experience.

The Middletons recently acquired the park and have made other improvements including the pavilion that now has a big screen TV and outdoor kitchen. One can often find campers watching their favorite game and grilling out while the kids play. Dogs are always welcome and love to play in the well-kept, fenced dog park.

The Yurts are a great addition to the campground that is nestled in the historic hills of Western North Carolina. With an open-air concept, the melodic night sounds from the forest and nearby Buck Creek provide a restful environment.  Their rugged feel and natural materials are artistically designed to offer the convenience of modern glamping. To plumb the canvas-covered round huts, Kevin used exposed piping and placed the kitchens and bath back-to-back in all the units to minimize the impact. This gives the home an industrial feel that works well with the leather, wood, and other natural materials. The kitchen counters were handcrafted with live edge and a beautiful finish. Mountain Stream RV Park, Marion NC Yurt Inside, the space is completely open except for the bathrooms that offer privacy doors. The main rooms have a seating area with kitchens directly behind and queen size beds with a wall-mounted-TV to the left. There is just enough room for two to enjoy a weekend getaway or even a week-long stay. Locals might want to sneak off for a two-night, mini-vacation and enjoy some authentic Yurt camping in the Blue Ridge Mountains.
They are open and taking reservations through November 25, 2018, then will close for the winter season. They open back up in spring on March 15, 2019.
